Postition Summary

  • Develop, structure, position, and implement investment strategies which are intended to serve Nuveen's European client base.
  • Assess and maintain the competiveness of established products from an investment and business performance perspective.
  • Achieve results through idea generation and collaboration with distribution, senior investment management, asset class product leads, legal & compliance, marketing, operations, and finance personnel.




Responsibilities:

  • With a focus on supporting the Europe region, the role will focus on traditional strategy mandates and support alternative products as needed.
  • Supports the creation strategic product plans for the Europe region. The plans will evaluate and refine assigned products, investment vehicles, and their distribution, based on financial, internal capabilities, market, and operational considerations; plans will include implementation, marketing and sales components.
  • Leads structuring of products or accounts, working closely with distribution, global investments, legal, accounting, and client servicing teams.
  • Supports the launch and implementation of new products and sub-advisory services through coordinating cross-functional teams and project management; and will include managing the internal governance and approval process.
  • Oversees, monitors, and evaluates traditional investment products for performance, style consistency, and profitability; identifies product gaps, as well as other issues and concerns around product management; implements procedures for filling gaps and takes corrective action, including internal development, team lift-outs and acquisitions, while mitigating risks and considering regulatory obligations.
  • Serves as subject matter expert, providing guidance and detailed product information to distribution and clients for due diligence questions, client servicing, offering memoranda, and other purposes.
  • Ensures products are compliant with local regulatory requirements. (e.g. MiFID II, AIFMD, UCITS).


Qualifications & Experience:

Required

  • BA, specializing in finance, investments, law or engineering.
  • Significant direct experience in asset management, preferably working in investment or product related functions.
  • Demonstrable direct experience with structuring and launching traditional and/or alternative products.
  • Experience with investment product regulations (UCITS, AIFMD) and private vehicles (Partnerships, Trusts).
  • Strong knowledge of alternative asset classes including hedged strategies, private equity, private debt and real assets.
  • Strong client presentation and analytical skills.
  • Cultural fit and desire to work in a team environment.


Preferred

  • Master/PhD in business, finance, investments, law or engineering preferred.
  • CFA or CAIA designation.
  • Structuring experience with investment management, either from sell-side/buy-side firm or a reputed law firm.
  • Experience with various markets in the region including, but not limited to; United Kingdom and continental Europe.
  • Experience with traditional asset classes.
  • Must be self-directed with ability to escalate as needed.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
