We are looking for a Commercial Analyst for our global FMCG client.


Reporting to the Head of European Procurement, the main function of this role is to establish and manage all internal reporting of European Procurement activity, such as spend, compliance and supplier performance, supporting stakeholders with commercial analysis. In addition, the role will support our European Category Managers evaluate vendors based on price, quality, capability and availability of products/services, using historical data as well as RFIs/RFQs and tenders.




Responsibilities:


• Perform detailed analysis of spend data across all categories and all suppliers to in Europe, supporting our Category Management team with relevant analysis as required


• Report financial and non-financial KPI's, providing insight into key drivers and highlighting trends and possible action plans. This reporting includes spend volumes, compliance, and multiple performance metrics such as "On Time In Full" deliveries, alongside identifying risks and opportunities applicable to a supplier or category


• Development of dynamic business analytics dashboards to enhance internal and external reporting and provide improved visibility for the European Leadership Team


• Support Business Development in responding to bids/tenders - analysis of product specification, categorization of products/spend and supplier pricing; working with regional team leads on approach and delivering business response


• Support contract renewals and organic growth of existing client relationships as required


• Ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting for significant group-wide projects


• External benchmarking/cross-account benchmarking


• Assist European Category Managers with building appropriate sourcing strategies for all product categories and regions


• Support European Category Managers with pricing negotiations (dissecting vendor pricing)


• Establish a revised reporting governance framework linked to our upgraded internal systems to support and underpin our European Procurement activity, analysis and evaluation


• Implement monthly dashboards with relevant supplier spend data and non-finance KPIs


• Develop sound understanding of operational workflow and reporting systems within the business to provide ad hoc reporting as required


The ideal candidate:


• Ideally possesses POSM/Print experience with some basic understanding of manufacturing processes and associated cost drivers, although this is not a pre-requisite


• Able to analyze spend data in line with business procurement categories and develop commercial solutions


• Skilled at data manipulation with experience of creating new reports from large data sets
