The Role Responsibilities
Strategy
  • Strong execution, implementation and diligent follow up to drive strategic initiatives to enhance the FM Commodities product

  • Support implementation of the strategic agenda of the various desk heads or sales teams. Ensure the teams are focused on the top priorities.

  • Support the division's agenda in business engagement and alignment with relationship managers and product partners to maximise alignment and collaboration

  • Ensure the most effective and efficient use of resources by challenging costs and non- standard processes.


Business
  • Support the Commodities COO team in delivering against the objectives of the Commodities division.

  • The purpose of the Business Manager is to work closely within the COO team and with Sales, Traders, Structures in the Commodities business.

  • There are four major areas of

    responsibilities:
    strategy and execution, growth opportunities, technology projects and process improvements to embed good conduct and controls.


Processes
  • Analyse MIS at a granular level. Understand and communicate key business dynamics, and identify potential growth areas

  • Support review of potential growth areas with desk heads and product sales. Ensure strong execution so business captures the opportunities

  • Engage constructively and diligently follow up on internal decisions that need to be taken in order to enable growth initiatives to be executed

  • Work closely with regional FM stakeholders, and other FM COO team members to maximise opportunities for Commodities

  • Technology and Process Improvements:

  • Analyse sales process and identify areas for improvements and efficiencies

  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders to deliver key technology and process improvement initiatives.

  • ePlatform capability and process improvements for the product distribution

  • Lead the FM Commodities business to achieve the outcomes set out in the Bank's Conduct Principles: Fair Outcomes for Clients; Effective Financial Markets; Financial Crime Compliance; The Right Environment.

  • Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.


Key Stakeholders
  • Product heads and Sales teams (specialists and generalists)

  • Middle Office and Compliance

  • Regional FM COO team (Sales and Controls)

  • Group and Regional Infrastructure Functions and Process Governance Committee members


Ideal Candidate
  • Degree from an accredited University

  • Experience in Banking & Financial Markets (Sales, Trading, Risk, Finance etc)

  • Good understanding of FM Products

  • Credit/Risk knowledge

  • Knowledge of existing and planned markets and market-related initiatives from the perspectives of the competition, the suppliers, the customer base and the regulatory environment; ability to apply this knowledge appropriately to diverse situations.

  • Ability to communicate clearly in a group setting and drive prioritisation discussions to achieve consensus and desired outcomes

  • Knowledge of effective planning techniques and ability to contribute to planning in support of the overall business plan.

  • Knowledge of processes, tools and techniques for assessing and controlling an organization's exposure to risks of various kinds; ability to apply this knowledge appropriately to diverse situations
