The Role:
Finance Reporting To Senior UK Tax Advisor

To provide a comprehensive range of taxation services to the UKBU relevant to a portfolio of upstream E&P assets in the UKCS and in the Atlantic margin West of Shetland.

Key Accountabilities

1 UK Tax Compliance
* Preparation and submission of twice yearly PRT returns.
* Preparation and submission of the UKBU Corporation Tax returns.
* Calculation of UK tax payments and receipts
* Preparation and submission of monthly UKBU VAT returns.
* Preparation and submission of quarterly WHT returns
* Preparation and submission of quarterly tied oil returns
* Preparation and submission of annual schedule 23 return
* Assisting with all HMRC UKBU tax enquiries and correspondence.

2 UK Tax Reporting
* Preparing monthly tax reporting computations for UKBU management accounts including the calculation and management of tax payments/receipts.
* Preparing mid-year and full year UKBU tax provisions and disclosures for group accounts and liaising with the group auditors.
* Preparing UKBU budgets
* Assisting in the preparation of deferred tax and long term economic models

3 UK Tax Advisory
* Providing VAT advice to the UKBU to ensure VAT is correctly applied and recovered.
* Assisting Senior UK Tax Advisor and Group Tax Manager with advisory projects with the wider business including the Business Development, Legal and Contracts and Procurement teams.
* Review and monitor underlying financial and tax systems and processes, identify improvements

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Qualifications
* Professionally qualified Chartered Tax Advisor (or Chartered Accountant) with a big 4 accounting firm with experience in the upstream E&P industry in corporation tax and petroleum revenue tax matters.
Skills / experience:
* The role requires specialist professional taxation knowledge in UK oil and gas tax regime in particular, ring fence CT and SCT compliance and accounting. Experience and working knowledge of petroleum revenue tax and indirect taxes preferable but not essential.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Knowledge (e.g. systems, software, procedures, regulations):
* Working knowledge of OneSource corporation tax and petroleum revenue tax compliance software.
