Robert Finance & Accountancy are pleased to be supporting our client, an international business based in Watford, on the recruitment on an exciting Financial Controller position. This role will be number two in finance reporting to the Head of Finance and the aim is that the FC will develop into the future Head of Finance. The ideal candidate will be ACA or ACCA qualified and have trained in audit/accounts in a practice firm and have 2-6 years post qualification experience.

Role

As a result of continued international expansion, our client are recruiting a newly created Financial Controller position, number two in finance to learn and manage the day to day operations of the business; driving improvements and managing a team of staff. The Financial Controller will be responsible for:

-All statutory financial reporting, Tax and compliance matters including statutory accounts, VAT, audit and Corp Tax.

-Delivering robust monthly management accounts, analysis and reporting, budgets and forecasts.

-Responsible for revenue recognition (UK & US GAAP), inventory and international movement of goods and relevant tax/duty implications, EC sales/intrastat and AR & AP.

-Working with stakeholders to develop and improve cash flow forecasting

-Ensure balance sheet reconciliations are completed to a high standard

-Improving and documenting all processes, procedures and controls to maximise use and efficiency of finance systems

-Develop and improve accounting processes particularly to identify any differences between UK & US GAAP in the ERP system

Profile

We are looking for an ACA or ACCA qualified accountant who has trained in any practice firm, has industry experience and is looking for an Financial Controller position in a growing international business. This role will be number two to the Head of Finance and will manage all of the day to day financials and AP & AR. Experience of international VAT, intrastat and EC Sales would be a distinct advantage.
