South Norfolk and Broadland Council have an exciting opportunity for you to joins us as a Council Tax Officer based Predominantly at Thorpe Lodge, Yarmouth Road, Norwich, NR7 0DU but also on occasions at South Norfolk House, Cygnet Court, Long Stratton, NR15 2XE and/or remote working. You will join full time, permanent basis in return for a competitive hourly rate of Circa £19,177 per annum.

Responsibilities of our Council Tax Officer:

- This job will put you at the heart of a Council Tax team dealing with customers face to face or on the telephone as well as by correspondence.

- You will deal with Billing, Collection and Recovery of Council Tax and will process changes of address and circumstances on Council Tax accounts. You will need to learn relevant legislation to be able to correctly process changes.

- You will need to work efficiently and accurately to ensure customers changes and notifications are processed to a high level.

- Good people skills are very important as this role involves negotiating with residents who are behind with payments and helping them understand their bills as well as explaining Council Tax rules and regulations.

What we're looking for in our Council Tax Officer:

Good literacy, numeracy and IT skills (evidenced by at least five GCSEs or equivalent to include Maths and English) is important. To complement our high achieving team you will also demonstrate excellent customer service skills and should ideally possess previous Council Tax, business rates or general administration and customer service experience.
