Location:
LondonThe Impact: This position will act as the main resource for direct tax compliance, tax accounting, tax planning in the UK. In addition, the candidate will provide support to, and deputise for, the EMEA Tax Director, on regional tax related issues. Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the preparation of monthly and quarterly tax payable reconciliations, assistance with the calculation of the monthly tax charge postings for all UK entities, assistance with review of PTBI forecasts for the regionLead and manage the preparation of US GAAP year-end tax provisions and return to provision calculations in Global Access for current and deferred taxes for the UK and certain other EMEA jurisdictionsLead and manage the preparation of UK Corporation Tax returns and supporting work papers and assistance with other UK Corporation Tax Compliance issuesLead and manage the preparation of local GAAP tax disclosure notes for the UK, and management of queries from external auditorsProviding advice and guidance to Business Divisions with respect to transfer pricing, withholding taxes and employment taxesAssisting the EMEA Tax Director on EMEA tax projects, M&A and Transfer Pricing; other analysis and research as appropriateManagement of the corporate tax payments for the UK Assistance with managing the UK withholding tax position through provision of tax residence certificates to the billing teams and timely filing of refund claimsWhat We're Looking For: Basic Qualifications:Recognised tax or accounting qualification e.g. CA or CTA Excellent knowledge of UK Corporate Tax legislation and some awareness of International and US Tax issues Good knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS Tax Accounting Rules Experience in compiling larger multinational income tax provisions and tax returns Ability to challenge standard practices appropriately, with the right level of gravitas and influenceWell-organized and detail-oriented with strong analytical skills and experience of process improvementAbility to manage multiple priorities, use own initiative, and work under pressure to deliver to tight deadlinesTechnically proficient in Microsoft office suite (especially Excel)Preferred Qualifications:Knowledge of Alphatax, OneSource Tax Provision, OracleKnowledge of US GAAP Tax Accounting RulesYour Application:Please apply with a tailored cover letter expressing your interest in this positionAbout S&P GlobalAt S&P Global, we don't give you intelligence-we give you essential intelligence.
