Key Responsibilities
Assist with the strategic planning process including annual budgeting, regular forecasts and three-year business plan:
- Take ownership for the collation and validation of all inputs relating to the Investment Segment; ensure that final templates are approved and understood by the business owners
- Under direction, actively engage with the business areas to assist with the production and analysis of accurate and timely quarterly forecasts, budgets and three-year plan
- Produce tables and input into presentations and papers as required
- Assist with accurate month-end Financial reporting:
- Support the Senior FBP in providing best practice MI reporting and monitoring; collating all relevant data and contribute to variety of presentations and papers
- Assist in analysing all significant variances and where applicable, support any resulting actions being put in place to make improvements
- Support all month end financial processes to ensure they are performed accurately and on a timely basis; ensure all system postings are understood, clearly documented and accurately reflected
- Take ownership for the documentation of all processes, procedures and filing system of the Investment Segment FP&A team; ensure this forms part of wider Finance structure
- Collate information from across the Finance function ensuring information is understood with messages easily communicated
- Help with all external information requirements including benchmarking, cost transparency initiative and defined contributions costings; producing insightful analysis where appropriate
Other:
- As appropriate provide support in strategic or ad hoc requests; compiling data in an accurate and clear format and at times working with confidential or sensitive information
- In conjunction with the wider Finance team understand and support the accounting of Investment Segment projects
- Help the Senior FBP implement improvements and ensure sustainable cost savings are documented
- Stays up to date on Finance systems including changes and ensures potential improvements and limitations are communicated appropriately
- Attend meetings as appropriate to build relationships, knowledge and credibility#
Your Experience
- Newly qualified or passed finalist
- Good communication, interpersonal and relationship building skills with a control mindset
- Keen attention to detail
- Keen to engage with non-finance stakeholders and understand financial services
- Proactive attitude with a desire to learn and improve
- Previous experience of working in a finance department
- Ideally has an understanding of the Proactis system and Sun ledger
- Strong in Excel and PowerPoint
