We are looking for an individual who has experience in an accountancy practice and dealing with multiple clients as well as bookkeeping, payroll and auto-enrolment and managing a team. Experience with Sage and Xero would be essential.

The position would entail:

  • Leading weekly team meetings for the bookkeeping & payroll department
  • Managing team members, monitoring workload
  • Reporting to partner at monthly management meetings
  • Completing own bookkeeping jobs including bank reconciliations, cash reconciliation, creditors reconciliations, debtors reconciliation, wages/PAYE/Pension reconciliations
  • Preparation of payroll, including pension assessments, RTI submissions to HMRC, Pension submissions to Pension providers
  • Dealing with re-declarations of auto-enrolments for existing clients
  • Set up of new PAYE clients including auto-enrolment set up
  • Ensuring bookkeeping, Payroll & Auto-enrolment procedures are kept up to date and reviewed
  • Ensuring software updates are maintained and carried out
  • Ensuring all VAT return deadlines are adhered to
