A well-established, highly successful and growing multi-channel retail business based in North London is recruiting a Financial Controller reporting to the CFO and managing a small team.

This is a broad and autonomous role and you will have wide and varied responsibilities. You will demonstrate an excellent commercial understanding of the retail industry and the ability to build strong relationships. You will work alongside senior non-finance colleagues and provide insightful reporting and analysis to drive commercial decision making, business performance, profitability and efficiency. You will have a team under you as well to support you in delivery of these objectives.

The Financial Controller will lead the day to day activities of the finance team and strive to improve controls and processes. This will include all financial and management accounting including responsibility for the Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, Cash flow forecast and overhead management. You will also be responsible for the company's tax and VAT, treasury activity (cash investment and FX) and act as point of contact for the auditors, bank and other third parties.

The successful candidate for the Financial Controller must be a qualified accountant. You will have the ability to operate as a hands-on financial controller in a fast paced environment. You will combine this with a positive and innovative attitude, constantly looking to improve processes and drive performance. You will demonstrate the ability to operate commercially and work with senior colleagues in the business. Someone with retail or multi-site experience will be highly sought after.

The role is based in North London and paying £65-75k basic salary, bonus and benefits.
