LANXESS UK is currently seeking a strong, motivated and talented individuals with the appropriate experience for the position of Cost Accountant with Italian language.

Temporary 12 months contract


This position reports to the Head of Record to Report and is responsible for performing general ledger and cost accounting activities for assigned entities as well as initiating, leading, and supervising departmental projects, including process improvement initiatives.

Primary Duties &

Responsibilities:


  • Review and reconciliation of inventory and manufacturing related accounts and ledgers on a monthly and quarterly basis for the Italian entity
  • Perform the month-end plant closing process ensuring all month end closing steps and system procedures are completed
  • Preparation and posting of accounting journal entries
  • Analysis of GIT and GRIR accounts, resolving dated items on a timely basis
  • Performing monthly, quarterly and annual closing activities
  • Preparation of periodic financial reports , financial analysis and commentary
  • Liaise with internal and external auditors on cost accounting matters
  • Reconciliation and review of accounts and ledgers
  • Ensure correct classification of amounts in P&L accounts and correct classification of assets and liabilities
  • Identification of potential accounting issues
  • Application of checks and controls to ensure that all transactions are accurately recorded
  • Monitoring and reporting of inventory adjustments
  • Assist Italian plant controller with stock count adjustments and annual budgets
  • Deliver timely and accurate information to all customers as requested


Knowledge and Experience:

  • Good level of general education; a Bachelors' degree, Qualifications: CIMA or ACCA would be advantageous.
  • At least 6 years of general ledger accounting experience in a European environment
  • Italian language
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work cross functionally and interact effectively with other departments in Europe and internationally
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent skills using SAP, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy essential
  • Ability to plan, prioritize and organize own workload
  • Ability to work under pressure and adhere to tight deadlines
  • Experience writing and presenting reports
