Great opportunity to join us as a Senior Financial Accountant on a 12 month fixed term contract within the technical accounting team where you will provide technical account expertise and to support the Controllership team in the monthly close process, statutory account preparation and project activity.

The role reports through the technical accounting team, though it is envisaged that much of the day to day activity will be engaged across the Controllership team. The role therefore will be quite varied - with a core technical accounting requirement supplemented by practical accounting and project activities.

The Company has a 31 December year end, and co-ordination of audit samples, requests and preparation of disclosure notes will be required.

The Role

Specific responsibilities will include:

  • Technical review of the 31 December 2020 financial statements, including new accounting policy disclosures
  • Involvement in the 2020 energy and carbon reporting disclosures required for UK statutory accounts and other strategic review disclosures
  • Collation and preparation of certain disclosure notes and statutory account preparation assistance
  • Assistance in reviewing and advising on judgemental accounting estimates, such as bad and debt provisioning, post placement service obligations and ASC606 revenue recognition
  • Working with and assisting the Controllership team on general accounting activities - including co-ordinating month end reconciliation and journal activities - noting that journal activities and reconciliations are predominantly outsourced to an offshore third-party provider
  • Assistance in certain Client Money activities - including assisting on the annual client money audit sample collation
  • Involvement with other ad-hoc activities such as Brexit transition work, progressing company liquidations and assistance in preparing board materials

What can we offer you?

In return you will be rewarded with a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package including; a fantastic pension scheme, life insurance, medical insurance, eye care vouchers and flexible benefits including critical illness cover, dental cover, additional life assurance and many other options.
