Meraki Talent are supporting with the appointment of a permanent Finance Analyst (Part-Qualified) based in Edinburgh paying £26,000 - £29,000.

This highly commercial business has grown and evolved significantly over the past decade to make it a formidable player within its sector right across the UK. Furthermore, the CFO has expertly restructured the finance function within recent years so that the month-end process can be completed much quicker and more efficiently to allow the Accountants ample time to business partner with operations & commercial departments to be constantly adding additional value.

The Role

The position of Finance Analyst is a redeveloped role that will support & deputise for the Management Accountant. To be considered for this role you must have experience of assisting with the preparation of management accounts & month-end. Furthermore, you be able to demonstrate exposure of working with financial systems & software to produce periodic & adhoc reports, ideally within a high volume data driven environment.

On Offer

The role of Finance Analyst will offer a salary of £26,000 - £29,000 including a study support package.

You will be involved in but not restricted to the following duties:

  • Reporting to and deputising for the Management Accountant
  • Preparation of monthly management accounts for a few entities
  • Variance analysis including ability to identify trends & challenges discrepancies
  • Assisting with budgeting & forecasting
  • Working with operations and commercial departments to transform data into meaningful & insightful monthly reporting packs such as P&L analysis
  • Balance sheet reconciliations
  • Assisting with year-end accounts & annual audit preparation
  • Maintenance of fixed asset register
  • Month-end: journals, accrual, prepayments etc.
  • VAT returns
  • Assisting with ERP developments
  • Assisting to develop processes, procedures & controls
  • Adhoc duties

To be considered for this opportunity, you must have the following experience:

  • Part qualified, qualified by experience will be considered with exceptional practical experience
  • Management accounts & month-end close experience - ESSENTIAL
  • Ideally operated within a high volume data driven environment with ability to turn vast data sets into monthly reporting packs
  • ERP systems experience
  • Exposure to PowerBI would be advantageous but not essential
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
