Our UK dealerships of high-end automobiles operates under our corporate business LSH Auto UK Limited and is made up of immaculate dealerships located across Birmingham and Manchester. Dealership sites include Birmingham Central, Erdington, Macclesfield, Solihull, Stockport, Manchester Central, Tamworth and Whitefield.

Our state-of-the-art Stockport site, purpose built, three storey facility launched in August 2019 and has become LSH Auto UK's Mercedes-Benz hub for the North West, attracting an unprecedented number of new customers and sales leads in its first year.

Mercedes-Benz of Stockport has two buildings at the flagship site. From its 13,492sqm showroom - the Autohaus; a retail space for new and used cars. The site is also home to an aftersales facility and a 17,166sqm purpose-built high-tech Body, Paint and Repair Centre, which operates as LSH Auto UK's regional Used Car Preparation Facility and Parts Distribution Centre.

Key Purpose of Role

We are looking for an Assistant Accountant to Support the production of monthly accounts and ensure the correct and efficient control and input of incoming and outgoing payments.

You would be responsible for ensuring the financial integrity of local accounts and for following procedures and controls so that information is relevant and timely.

You would provide accurate, relevant and timely management information to aid decision-making. We are looking for someone to support the site in ensuring that all standards and processes are adhered to in line with LSH policies & procedures.

Our Assistant Accountant will work towards the company vision, to put colleagues, customers and community at the heart of everything we do.

Financial/Operational Focus


• To supervise and support assistant accountant team with the production of accounts


• Support in the production of monthly management accounts which are consistent with the accounting and financial policies and procedures of the company


• Submit monthly manufacturer composite to the agreed guideline & timetable


• Debt control. Managing unallocated cash daily and ensuring no overdue or aged debts (retail or finance)


• Ensure all purchase invoices are authorised in a timely manner. And all company financial controls are adhered to


• Any discrepancies reported to Line Manager


• Provide data to ensure corrective action is taken to minimise the risk to the business. Assist with ad hoc reports as required to complete month end accounts and any other statutory reporting requirements


• Provide administration cover for the Sales Administrator and Accounts Assistant as required


• Monthly vehicle stock take & full reconciliation


• Bi-annually attend & participate in the Parts Stock Take


• Reconciliation of the balance sheet with a high degree of integrity, ensuring consistent with the accounting and financial policies and procedures of the Company


• Identify opportunities to improve working capital

• Support in the preparation & review of annual budgets & statutory reporting to include VAT


• Produce ad hoc management information as required to support management decision making


• Explore, suggest and where agreed, implement efficiencies in processing, workflow and administration


• Identify opportunities to improve profitability through analysis of business performance


• Undertake any other duties as reasonably required to ensure the successful operation of the market area

Our Ideal Candidate


• 4 years' experience in a finance role ideally in the motor industry, ideally AAT, or any other recognised financial qualification preferred.


• Strong accounts background in purchase and sales ledger, balance sheet experience with basic VAT knowledge


• Ability to plan and organise, working to tight deadlines


• A team player able to perform to a high standard and deliver an extremely high level of customer satisfaction


• Accurate with attention to detail

• IT skills, particularly in the use of spreadsheets
