About the Role

Reporting to the Head of FP&A, this is a very commercial role and will be a hybrid of acting as the key business partner to the sales management team whilst also heavily involved in identifying customer trends and profiles to determine market segment requirements, drive improvement of results and develop solutions. This role will be responsible for analysing large data sets, building models to find discrepancies in our data and developing data-driven tools to support the business. Working cross-functionally in the company, this person will also drive customer & pricing analytics, revenue strategies and tools.

We're looking for an entrepreneurial & energetic professional, who is passionate about data analytics, modelling, understanding customer behaviour and improving revenues to make a difference. This role is responsible for ensuring the continued improvement in delivery of reporting, analysis and insight into what drives the value of RMS customers. Operating within the FP&A 'Centre of Excellence' umbrella with regard to data provision - this role will work closely and collaboratively with our data team and pricing analyst to ensure there is consistency across KPI reporting and best practice in modelling and analysis techniques.

Key Responsibilities

Sales optimisation

  • Working with Sales Management and Head of FP&A establish regular reporting around seller / team performance and monthly review sessions and ensure follow up on action points
  • Support the Go to Market sales strategy through provision of analysis and insight and reporting
  • Focus on driving higher value sales from within the Field team and vertical focus from Tele-sales teams
  • Devise and maintain regular reporting around the success of sales optimisation key objectives, be a key to ensuring that we are targeting the right metrics, and acting as the pure finance business partner to the team
  • Ongoing analysis of sales optimisation/productivity against key sales metrics to ensure performance goals are met

Customer analytics

  • A key growth area for the business, quickly gain a grasp of key customer verticals that we should be exploiting, and along with Head of FP&A devise a strategy to 'own' these verticals and ensure that momentum on this is maintained
  • Design and maintain ongoing automated reporting that paint a picture of the "pulse" of our business, such as customer KPIs, customer trends, financial reports and other dashboards
  • Mine and analyse data to understand customer segments and trends. Conduct customer data research and analytics to ensure successful product value propositions.
  • Evaluate customer performance and support profit improvement initiatives
  • Communicate findings effectively and translate them into visualisations, metrics and recommended actions appropriate for each area of the business

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

  • Advanced knowledge of Excel (essential) with experience of manipulating large data sets and modelling skills. SQL an advantage but not essential
  • Holding at minimum a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Business, Finance or related quantitative or analytical degree
  • Experience of working in the Payments industry would also be a huge advantage
  • Proven pro-active self-starter with experience of being able to work independently, juggling and prioritising across workloads and consistently meeting deadlines
  • Attention to detail and genuine intellectual curiosity into business drivers underlying performance
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills (both written and oral), preferably with commercial exposure in previous roles
  • Ability to build effective relationships with financial or non-financial and internal or external stakeholders, e.g. sales, finance, operations, marketing
  • Commercial orientation and financial awareness
  • Experience working in a fast-paced changing environment with previous exposure in online/technology/start up environment preferred
