As an Inspector General Auditor with the CIA, you will conduct performance, financial statement, financial-related, and information systems audits of CIA programs and activities.

Inspector General (IG) Auditor responsibilities include developing and writing audit guides; developing and documenting audit findings in accordance with generally accepted government auditing standards; and developing audit conclusions and recommendations designed to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of CIA operations. Auditors will also conduct or support other OIG functions as required. Travel may be required.

Working in the Office of the Inspector General (OIG) allows for growth beyond a particular area of expertise and the opportunity to gain a better understanding of the intricacies of CIA management.

ENTERPRISE FUNCTIONS AT THE CIA - OFFICE OF THE INSPECTOR GENERAL

The Office of Inspector General (OIG) is part of the CIA's Enterprise Functions, which provides governance and oversight to the business of intelligence effort across the Agency at Headquarters and in locations worldwide. OIG is an independent office of the CIA that promotes economy, efficiency, effectiveness and accountability in the management of CIA activities by performing independent audits, inspections, investigations, and reviews of CIA programs and operations. US citizenship required (dual-national US citizens eligible). All positions require relocation to the Washington, DC metro area.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in one of the following fields or related studies:
    • Accounting
    • Finance
    • Information systems
    • Business Management
  • GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4-point scale
  • Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to apply Government Auditing Standards, discern key issues and draw appropriate conclusions

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Advanced degrees
  • Professional Certifications:
    • Certified Public Accountant
    • Certified Fraud Examiner
    • Certified Information Systems Auditor
  • Two (2) to five (5) years of experience in government auditing, accounting or information systems
