  • Proactive management of the credit risks arising from Financial Institutions, Sovereigns and Quasi-sovereigns based in the EMEA region with primary focus on Italy, Benelux and Scandinavia, including support of several of the bank's key clients.
  • Work closely with senior Directors and Managing Directors in front office business units across CS divisions including Global Markets, Investment Banking and Swiss Universal Bank as well as other support areas (e.g. Market risk, Collateral Management and Legal departments) in onboarding clients, crafting client solutions and trade approvals.
  • Trade and transaction analysis and approval within existing limits or via a personal delegated credit authority.
  • Supervise the financial strength of clients and performance of transactions in the analyst's assigned portfolio, taking appropriate risk management action as required, including re-structuring or amending existing transactions, if necessary, to align with risk appetite.
  • Contribute in risk focused due diligence meetings with clients.
  • Credit risk analysis: Review and analysis of constitutional documentation; qualitative, quantitative and financial analysis to determine internal credit ratings and risks at both individual or groups of Sovereigns and banks; and ultimately determination of our credit risk appetite within the firm's Risk Appetite Framework.
  • Trading documentation: Understanding of and establishment of credit risk related terms across full suite of trading documentation, collaborating closely with legal department, clients and/or their lawyers in negotiation of terms.
  • Monitoring news flow and highlight relevant information to senior management. Identify early remedial action on deteriorating credits (early Warning Indicators), manage counterparties and watch list and work in partnership with Recovery Management team for these names.

You Offer

The successful candidate will be an experienced credit risk management professional who has worked at a major investment or commercial bank, with a focus on financial institutions analysis.
  • Relevant university degree preferably in finance, risk management, economics or equivalent work experience.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in English is essential. Fluency in Italian is desirable.
  • Outstanding analytical/quantitative skills as well as detailed knowledge of IB products and associated master documents' credit terms.
  • Detailed understanding of country-specific risks and sovereign credit analysis.
  • Strong communications skills, both oral and written.
  • Team oriented, proficient, flexible, diligent, and self-motivated.
  • Solid understanding of Microsoft suite (eg. Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) would be a plus!
  • Hardworking individual with good interpersonal and problem solving skills
