Think Accountancy and Finance are delighted to be supporting this growing international business in recruiting a Financial Controller. The role will be supporting the Head of Finance and be responsible for the accounting, tax, financial reporting, and cash flow management.

Essentially you will need to be able to manage and develop the core finance team on the day to day duties and ensure that the month end process is completed accurately and timely. You will be responsible for the US and UK GAAP accounting and be the first response for any questions.

In essence the Financial Controller will be prepared to learn the business and drive the process and control improvements that are required. This role will look to be progressive in line with the business so you must be ambitious and be looking to take the next steps within your career.

Job

responsibilities:

  • Statutory reporting
  • Audit
  • Corporation Tax Returns
  • VAT and payroll taxes
  • Financial reporting including management accounts, budgets and forecasts
  • US and UK GAAP reporting
  • Continuous Improvement plans to improve efficiency and effectiveness
  • Balance sheet reconciliations
  • Work with stakeholders to develop cash flow management

Requirements:

  • Technical Accounting Knowledge including FRS102
  • Experience in Audits
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to articulate complex financial concepts to non-financial colleagues
  • Inventory management and international trade exposure - import/export of goods, VAT and duty
  • Experience of managing AP/AR staff

I am looking for someone who is qualified ACA or ACCA via Practice before moving into Industry. You will be inclusive and diverse who can bring a fun and collaborative personality to the team. You will have a continuous improvement mindset who has hands on experience. You must have an audit background and experience of Tax, HMRC and Payroll. An ideal would be a previous role where you had exposure to international trade including movement of goods - Intrastats, EC Sales and import/export duty.

The role will include some travel within UK and International locations.
