A British outsourcing organisation with bases throughout the UK, Continental Europe, the Middle East, Asia Pacific and North America. Our client specialises in 5 key sectors: Defence, Justice and Immigration, Transport, Health and Citizen services

On behalf of this organisation, AMS are looking for a Payroll Change Lead for a 6 Month contract based in Solihull / Fully Remote Working

Purpose of the Payroll Change Lead Role:

Whilst transformation in the last 2 years has been very successful, the service still requires a high number of FTE across 4 different teams to deliver.

There is a need to review operating model options for the UK Payroll Service and build a clear business case to invest in areas to improve.

As a Payroll Change Lead you will be responsible for:

To independently analyse options, provide recommendations and supporting business case for any changes on the operating model.
To manage one change plan for payroll services and coordinate activity for all major projects requiring payroll support. This will ensure activity is planned, prioritized with appropriate resources allocated alongside delivering business critical services.
To review existing documented scope of services for each element of the operating model and analyse the effectiveness of each element.
To work with potential suppliers to identify commercial and change impacts of increasing or changing their scope.
To develop a business case with options and a recommendation, taking into account the broader change plan in the UK
To kick off the Project for Pay Review 2021, working closely with Reward and People Services teams to review findings from the review of Pay 2020 and develop detailed plans and build the team to deliver requests improvements.
If the Business case for any changes is signed off and any changes can be delivered in 2020 and 2021 the role holders contract may then be extended to project manage the implementation phase.

What we require from the candidate:

Technical Skills

Project Management - Ability to manage projects to ensure successful delivery (on time, within budget, meeting agreed upon success criteria) to establish clear goals and accountabilities. Also includes the ability to develop project plans, allocate resources, identify potential issues/risks and develop contingency plans.
Operational Excellence - knowledge of tools and techniques needed to continuously improve the performance of an operation by the elimination of waste and defects and reducing variability.
Stakeholder Management - Keeping stakeholders updated and consulted
Innovation: Generate new or unique solutions and embrace new ideas
3rd party supplier/contract management to clarify requirements and negotiate commercial termsExperience

Experience of managing large scale payroll change projects is essential
Ability to develop business case for change and obtain senior leadership support, using logic and commercial judgement
Confident when challenging business leaders
Strong analytic skills and comfortable with analysing data and complex informationKnowledge and Skills

Experienced and adept at building rapport and influencing senior stakeholders
Articulate, confident and fluent communicator with a high level of oral and written English. Able to use a range of techniques and styles to ensure that communication is timely, clear and effective
Will have experience of performing Payroll Transformation Project/s
Outsourcing experience (working with 3rd party suppliers, this will include off-shore and in-shore)
CIMA Qualified or Q.B.E.
