Financial Reporting Senior

We are working with one of Oxford's leading chartered accountants and business advisers who are looking for a Financial Reporting Senior to join their forward thinking company. Our client provides a full range of Accountancy services to their substantial, growing and diverse client base.

Overall Responsibilities

Are you a qualified accountant (by professional qualification or qualified by experience) looking to take the next step in your career?

Working as a Financial Reporting Senior you will be responsible for preparing Client's accounts (Academies, Colleges, Charities and Companies)for the Audit team to audit. You will also carry out various Academy specific tasks, such as AARs, BFROs and Corporation Tax.

Day to Day (Key)

Responsibilities:

Prepare accounts in accordance with accounting standards for audit clients:

  • In conjunction with the Audit Manager prepare accounts to an agreed timetable
  • Make any adjustments to the accounts (if required) promptly after the audit in liaison with the audit senior
  • Communicate with Audit Managers throughout the process
  • Carry out any other required Academy specific tasks; AARs, BFROs, Corporation tax

Qualifications:

  • Qualified or part qualified accountant

Skills and Personal Qualities

The post holder will be expected to demonstrate the following skills and qualities at all times during the discharge of their duties:

  • You will have good knowledge of UK GAAP, IFRA and accounting standards. A significant proportion of the clients you will prepare accounts for will be Academies, therefore knowledge and experience in this area is essential. Knowledge and experience of charity clients is desirable.
  • We are looking for a team player who is motivated to help clients, taking a genuine interest in them, and has a desire to put them first
  • You will be able to apply critical reasoning to provide insight into accounts preparation work and our clients, as well as demonstrate good interpersonal skills to build and maintain working relationships with clients and other team members
  • You are able to use your initiative and manage your own time and have the ability to adapt to changing conditions to meet deadlines. You will be expected to demonstrate excellent attention to detail and have good IT skills; having knowledge of Digita products would be an advantage.
  • Work on own initiative and demonstrate the ability to solve unexpected or new problems in a methodical, efficient manner
  • Communicate well with other audit team members
  • Highly organised with good attention to detail
  • Appropriate priority setting when dealing with conflicting demands
  • Ability to assimilate new information quickly and to learn to new skills
  • Excellent computer skills (Word, Excel, Digita)
