Ref: L10969

This is an excellent career opportunity for a proven internal audit and risk professional to develop the function within the UK division of this substantial international listed transport group. The group has a diverse business model centered on passenger car and commercial vehicle dealerships together with vehicle body building and parts operations. The focus of the role is to deliver and develop a programme of risk based audits based on the group model and adapted for the UK whilst also driving improvements in risk management control and governance processes. This is a very hands-on role where you will work on-site with senior colleagues in order to deliver positive outcomes. Reporting is to the CFO of the UK business which has its head office in the Thames Valley and there is also functional responsibility to the Head of Audit and Head of Risk at the holding company HQ. You will develop the UK function and ensure that all businesses are managing their key risks with appropriate internal controls being in place and operating effectively and also that emerging risks or exposures are highlighted. You will take independent audits of business processes, advise on issues of risk and control and do this in a proactive way to ensure that this is embedded in everyday business activity. You will also maintain oversight of compliance, specifically on high risk areas such as GDPR, BCP and Safecall Notifications and you will work with other compliance functions such as FCA, H&S and Warranty Auditors in order to provide an integrated assurance framework. You will be supported in this by a specialist colleague and the role does involve significant UK wide travel, hence the home base option ideally in the Midlands but there is lots of flexibility on this. A high calibre individual is required. Graduate qualified you will hold a recognized financial (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or auditing (MIIA, PIIA, CIA) professional qualification and you will bring strong experience and knowledge of financial and operational audits within a sizeable multisite business preferably automotive related or similar. You will also have proven ability in the use of risk based audit methodologies in line with best practice, have in depth knowledge of corporate business requirements and experience of accounting or audit within a large vehicle dealership group is preferred. As a key team member, you will need to be an excellent communicator and influencer and importantly a strong relationship builder so as to create a 'pull demand' for the service and to be seen to be a trusted advisor to the business. This is a superb career opportunity to make an impact within a group that offers real potential for career growth and the role will appeal to an individual on an upward career trajectory with the ability and ambition to make strong career progress in this dynamic group. The benefits package comprises a highly competitive base salary, bonus, car and broad ranging benefits as expected of a leading player in the sector.
