Job Title:
Finance Manager (P/T 3 days per week)
Based: Epsom, Surrey (Remote working due to Covid)
Contract: 9 months, potentially becoming permanent
Look Good Feel Better is an independent cancer support charity and due to retirement we require a part time Finance Manager. You will be responsible for all aspects of financial accounting, records and reporting for the charity and its trading subsidiary Look Good Feel Better Trading Ltd.
In addition, a key element of the role will be to work with the PT Finance Director to review and streamline financial and reporting processes.
The role contains a balance of financial accounting, financial control, banking, payroll management, day-to-day accounting, process review, forecasting and stakeholder support. Along with preparing draft reports and presentations to the Charity's committees and Board.
As a special project, a review of current financial processes within two months is required, along with working with the Finance Director to recommend and implement changes.
Key Skills required
• Professional qualification (ACCA preferred)
• Charity finance experience (preferred)
• Competent at Excel
• End of end transactional and managerial experience of a SME business
• Deep knowledge of an SME accounting and payroll package (Sage preferred)
Key Responsibilities
• Preparation of monthly management accounts (Sage/Excel)
• Preparation of statutory financial statements (Companies House and Charity Commission)
• Managing the audit process
• Manage and process payroll (Sage)
• Manage pension contributions (Peoples' Pension)
• Prepare and file tax and other statutory returns - Income, Vat, Gift aid etc
• Supervision of assistant (3 days/week) who processes supplier invoices, credit card statements as well as bank receipts (multiple donations)
• Accounts processing and posting - supplier payments, sundry invoicing, journals, bank recs
• Work with FD on budgeting and cash flow forecasting
• Preparation of draft committee papers and board reports
• Project work - with FD review and streamline financial and reporting processes
