Hays Accountancy & Finance are exclusively partnering with a leading and well-established FMCG Organisation based in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire looking to recruit a dynamic and experienced Finance Manager. An exciting opportunity working closely with the Head of Finance responsible for providing financial management for the company and leading the finance team, providing clear direction and driving high performance.

Your new role

Your key duties will involve managing a small finance team, providing vision and direction, overseeing the accurate preparation of monthly journals, reconciliations, fixed asset register, prepayments/accruals, stock variances, balance sheet reconciliations and month-end /year-end closure processes for the ledgers. You will produce management figures with commentary, along with preparation of budgets/forecasts and be expected to chair monthly budgets meetings with budget holders. You will oversee the maintenance of accounting records on the MRP systems, along with the management of Payroll, Inventory, Cash book, VAT and Debtors. You will ensure compliance with statutory accounting including PAYE, EC VAT reclaims and Intrastat reporting, liaise with external auditors, assist with process improvement projects and system implementations. You will provide internal stakeholders with relevant financial information to support them in making informed decisions which support the business strategy.

What you'll need to succeed

To be considered for this permanent and hands-on Finance Manager position you will need experience within a similar role, strong management skills to direct/motivate a small finance team and strong MS Excel skills (pivots/lookups/reporting). You will be part-qualified/qualified CIMA/ACCA/ACA or qualified by experience, with proven financial analysis and forecasting ability. You will have strong communication skills to build relationships at all levels, ability to influence and challenge decisions, with strong problem-solving skills and a self-motivated commercial working approach. It would be advantageous if you have experience within the FMCG sector and MRP systems.

What you'll get in return

This varied and fast-paced Finance Manager role is offering a salary between £35,000 - £45,000 per annum dependable on experience, based in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire.
