An exciting IT System Business Analyst job has become available at a leading global manufacturing company in the manufacturing IT function based in Penang. Reporting directly to the Assistant IT Manager, this is a role for a subject-matter expert in manufacturing solutions business analysis.

About the IT System Business Analyst Role:
As the IT System Business Analyst, you will be responsible for conducting business process analysis, requirement assessments and preliminary cost/benefit analyses to align information technology solutions with business initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct inquiries pertaining to the development of new information systems to meet current and projected business needs

Write functional specifications of user needs for application development, enhancements, and testing

Analyse user requirements, procedures, and problems to improve existing systems

Prepare functional, systems and programme specifications

Maintain a thorough knowledge and in-depth field experience regarding emerging or job technologies required to fulfil the job, this could include formal or self-paced professional development

Maintain positive relations with all employees encouraging them to suggest ways of improving IT systems.

Serve as an escalation point for troubleshooting issues

Identify creative ways to reduce cost by streamlining processes and systems (i.e. modification of responsibilities or consolidation of tasks, elimination of non-value added processes, or complete re-engineering of processes and systems)

Drive continuous improvement through trend reporting analysis and metrics management

Assure that procedures and work instructions are efficient and not redundant

Demonstrate a commitment to customer service; anticipate, meet and exceed expectations by solving problems quickly and effectively; making customer issues a priority

To succeed in this IT System Business Analyst, you must have experiences in cross functional team management and has strong knowledge of implementation and L3 support.

Key Requirements:

At least a bachelor's degree, professional degree in computer science/information technology or equivalent

Minimum of two to five years of work experience in a related position

Shop-floor system (manufacturing execution system) experience is highly desirable

Excellent interpersonal skills in working with the customer, management and technical teams

Strong technical skills and attention to detail
