Job Title:
Senior Finance Manager
Reporting to: CEO
Position Overview
The Finance Manager is responsible for the production of timely and accurate monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting, management accounts preparation and analysis, budgetary control and management of operating expenditure. Working with key stakeholders across the organisation; the CEO and the Management team, the Board and where necessary external partners; shareholders and or financial institutions, delivering the financial outcomes of the business strategy. The successful candidate will thrive in a fast pace environment, have a lust for learning, more than just a number-cruncher, with an innate ability to analyse financial information and disseminate credibly across all level of the business up to Executive level.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Overall control of the company's finance function
Management of financial contractual arrangements, understanding of the impact to the P/L over the life of the contract
Supplier and contract management, providing regular updates to the Management Board
Financial planning and related ongoing advice for the CEO and the Management Board
Formulating financial targets and budgets following the strategy determined by the Board
Overall responsibility for all financial transactions and accountancy matters, including audit, systems, tax, VAT analysis and reporting
Prepare and review of monthly management accounts
Work with and assist the management team to grow the businesses formulating strategies and planning
Lead and manage the annual budget process and taking initiatives in controlling costs appropriately
Ongoing management of cash flow, invoicing, management fees and associated rebates
Preparation and submission of weekly and monthly reports, including regulatory submissions
Providing information for and liaising with external auditors
Management of sales and purchase ledgers
Managing compliance with and payment of all payroll taxes including benefits in kind and PAYE sharing agreement
Capital Adequacy calculations, monitoring and regulatory submission
Maintaining the company's fixed asset register
Corporate policy oversight, including insurance
Production of rate card and pricing structure for business
Record retention and archiving
Financial analysis and independent valuation of unquoted securitiesTechnical Skills, Experience and Qualifications Expected
Must have financial services experience AND FUND SECTOR EXPERIENCE
Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or equivalent (min 5 years post qualified)
Strong understanding of investments, fund and products within the Financial Service industry
Strong PC skills including Excel, Sage, Pegasus or relevant accounting package
Reading appropriate material relevant to the financial services industry and maintaining CPDCompetencies Required
Enthusiastic, highly motivated and organised
Strong numerical, administration and analytical skills
Team working
Attention to detail and accuracy
Good at planning and time management
Good communication skills both written and verbal
Strong customer service ethic, including understanding the principles of Treating Customers Fairly (TCF)
Ability to comply with set internal policies and routines
Flexible approach and a "can do" attitude
Ability to work under pressure
Strong attention to detail
Excellent decision making skillsThis role can be office based 2 days per week and home based 3 days per week.
