Our client, an innovative and growing international organisation, seeks a Financial Controller to help lead its Group finance team.
Reporting to the Finance Director, the Financial Controller will manage the day to day running and professional development of the finance team including managing the month end close process and preparation of monthly consolidated accounts, ensure complete, accurate and timely statutory reporting on a quarterly and annual basis to meet UK and US/SEC reporting requirements and managing intercompany transactions and supporting Group structure activities
You will also actively contributing towards the drive for continuous improvement, looking to maximise operational efficiency and improve upon standard operating procedures for all systems and processes.
In addition to BAU activities, you will support the Finance Director with other projects including an upcoming company-wide ERP systems implementation, help with treasury and tax planning as well as providing leadership to the wider finance function.

There are significant opportunities for the right candidate in this role to continue to develop and gain additional responsibilities and duties within the business, including deputising for the Finance Director when required.
Applicants should be a qualified accountant, ideally an ACA, CA or ACCA trained in a Top-tier practice and with post-qualification financial control experience gained in a Group finance function. Strong knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS is key, as is the ability to thrive within a high-paced environment.


Skills / Experience / Attributes:

  • Accounting Qualification - ACA or ACCA preferred with a strong all-round knowledge of the current technical financial reporting environment with an emphasis on IFRS and UK GAAP
  • A background in a top-tier audit practice and/or experience of liaising with external auditors would be preferable, although, lacking this, experience in a listed entity/corporate financial function will be considered
  • Post qualification experience of Financial Control and proven track record of leading a successful and effective finance team
  • Practical understanding of the statutory and tax compliance filing requirements of a global group, including experience of consolidation
  • Strong Excel and financial systems experience, with the ability to manipulate and interpret key financial data
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to forge strong internal and external working relationships
  • Enthusiastic team player with an approachable manner and an ability to engage with colleagues across the business
  • Self-motivated with a positive, proactive attitude, demonstrating the drive and enthusiasm to achieve own potential and improve the operational performance of the department
  • An ability to think analytically, challenging assumptions and others when needed, in a positive manner
  • Logical and clear thinking with an ability to simplify, thinking critically and strategically to seek opportunities for improving procedures
  • Understands the dynamic and requirements of working in a fast-growing company
