About The Role

Due to the increasing amount of Regulatory Reporting over the last few years we are looking to strengthen our Regulatory Reporting team by recruiting an additional Regulatory Reporting Senior Accountant.

Our Regulatory Returns cover a wide range of areas including Financial Reporting, Liquidity Reporting, Capital Reporting and Retail product specific reporting and are submitted to our Regulators, the Bank of England (BoE), the Prudential Regulation Authority (PRA), The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and the European Banking Authority (EBA), on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis. This is a high profile area and is a key activity within the larger Finance team.

The main focus of the role is the preparation of Regulatory Liquidity Returns, which are submitted to the European Banking Authority (EBA) and the Prudential Regulation Authority (PRA) on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis.

You'll ensure that the returns are prepared accurately and in a timely manner, in line with the Regulatory Reporting Framework that governs the reporting of Regulatory Returns at the Society.

You'll be responsible for planning your own workload ensuring all tasks are covered and deadlines are met without risk of error or late submissions.

You'll be required to keep abreast of new reporting requirements and amendments to existing reporting ensuring these are implemented within your allocated returns in a controlled, accurate and timely manner in accordance with our Regulatory Reporting Framework.

As the Senior Accountant within the team you will be expected to provide cover to the Regulatory Reporting Senior Manager and support to the other team members when requested especially in relation to ensuring regulatory deadlines are achieved and providing advice and guidance on complex interpretation matters.

Liquidity Regulatory Returns covered within the Regulatory Reporting team:

    PRA110

    LCR

    NSFR

    AMM

    FSA017

Plus others deemed Liquidity Reporting related.

About You

You'll be an enthusiastic and proactive individual who understands the importance of Regulatory Reporting and risks associated with not meeting the Regulators expectations around quality and accuracy. You must be an organised individual who can work under pressure whilst remaining calm and focused on achieving tight deadlines.

A good eye for detail and accuracy is essential as is the ability to read and interpret complex regulatory guidance.

You'll have a good working knowledge of excel and be able to produce well-structured spread sheets that meet the Society's End User Computer policy.

Good communication skills are required as you will be working with all levels of Senior Managers across Finance and Non-Finance areas and you must have the ability and confidence to explain complex guidance and provide challenge.

You'll be curious and want to understand how your role and activity fits and adds value in the context of Finance and the wider Society as a whole. You'll continually look for opportunities to develop both yourself and your team and look to step outside of the confines of your role in the support of colleagues and the Society. You'll engage honestly and constructively with your colleagues across the business to deliver great outcomes and ultimately cultivate an environment of collaboration, innovation and idea sharing.

You'll demonstrate a responsible and caring attitude by getting things done, getting things right and achieving this in the right way
