Salary:
£50k - £60k DOE

The opportunity:

* This is a brand-new role where you can make your mark and really make a difference, working closely with the MD and Owner you will be leading the finance function of our rapidly expanding business.
* Reporting directly to the MD your responsibilities will be varied, including leading and coaching the team to prepare the monthly management accounts and run payroll, whilst you will be forecasting, product costing and margin analysis, undertaking credit risk management and managing the third party relationships. This is a real mix of a hands on and strategic leadership role as you will be one day getting stuck in with the team and the next advising the senior management team and supporting decision making. The Role:
* Leading the finance function.
* Supporting senior management in decision making, offering insight and a proactive approach to all financial matters.
* Supporting the MD and Owner to plan finance structures & strategies required to facilitate the business objectives.
* Discussing the financial results with the senior management team - ensuring full understanding, to identify and explain variances.
* Managing, supporting and nurturing our finance team of three.
* Responsible for delivering monthly and annual management reporting, ensuring the preparation of accurate timely management accounts.
* Responsible for delivering best practice ledger services for Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable/Credit Control and monitoring the business processes with appropriate metrics to avoid business risk.
* Responsible for compiling and consolidating the statutory budget requirements (P&L, cashflow & balance sheet) including the budget information required by the owners and bank.
* Forecasting. Treasury and cash flow forecasting.
* Product costing and margin analysis.
* Credit and risk management - ensuring all customers and suppliers adhere to payment terms.
* Implementation of process with departments.
* Ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll. Ensuring timely submission of HMRC reporting.
* Developing and maintaining financial controls, processes, policies and procedures.
* Managing relationship with business partners; bank, Auditors, HMRC.
* Responsible for planning & delivering successful annual statutory audits including all consolidations.
* Assisting with projects and initiatives as they arise.
The ideal person:
You will have:
Essential:
Proven experience in a Finance Manager level role in industry / commercial environment - essential
Qualified CIMA, ACA or ACCA - essential
Demonstratable experience & technical understanding of accounting standards & taxation legislation - essential
Proven line management experience - essential
IT skills; Outlook, Word, Intermediate to Advanced Excel - essential
Great communication skills - essential
Proven commercial acumen - essential
Numerical and analytical skills - essential
Problem solving skills - essential
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills - essential
Desirable:
Qualified AAT - desirable
Experience in a wholesale / distribution environment - desirable
Experience in a medium sized business - desirable
IT skills; Sapp Business 1 - desirable.
International finance experience - desirable
Project management experience - desirable
Clean driving licence - desirable
