The Financial Planning and Analysis team is responsible for leading all budget and forecasting activity for the UK and EU division, supporting and challenging business decisions to support growth.The FP&A analyst will be responsible for creating and maintaining all FP&A data sets and financial modelling, supporting the wider FP&A and Commercial Finance team with reporting and analysis to support decision making across the UK and EU.Reporting to the Senior FP&A Manager you will take ownership for maintaining accuracy and continuous improvement within your respective area and have an inquisitive mindset with a desire to understand what is behind the numbers.The role would suit an ambitious recently CIMA / ACCA qualified candidate looking to progress within a fast paced, rapidly growing business. Alternatively, an accountancy study support package would be available to the right candidate, who is actively working towards their professional qualification.Duties and Responsibilities
• Responsible for maintaining the FP&A planning and reporting models, ensuring accuracy and integrity of reporting source data
• Assist with the preparation of monthly management reports incorporating financial performance, commentary, and management KPIs
• Production of the monthly operations pack, working in conjunction with the FP&A Manager
• Perform monthly variance and trend analysis, identifying underlying drivers of business performance
• Support in the monthly reforecast process, working collaboratively with the wider team to produce content for the US
• Support in the annual budget and business planning process for UK and EU
• Responsible for updating, reviewing and maintaining all EU P&L schedules, in preparation for submission to the US Finance team
• Undertake routine ad hoc analysis of commercial and operational performance Attributes and SkillsEssential
• ACCA / CIMA qualified or actively working towards completing a professional qualification
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with proven ability to analyse / interpret complex and large datasets
• Experience in developing and maintaining financial reporting and forecasting models
• Advanced MS Excel and MS PowerPoint skills
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy, able to maintain standards when working to tight deadlines
• Strong communication skills
• Able to work proactivity using own initiative whilst being a strong team player
• Eagerness to learn and can-do attitude
• Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to work in a fast-paced and changing environment
• Personable and able to build effective working relationships with finance and non-finance staffDesirable
• Previous retail or FMCG experience
