The main purpose of the role is to provide analytical support in respect of financial investigations conducted by the RECU.
Main
Responsibilities:
Advise and support officers in matters relating to the investigation of individuals by examining and analysing financial accounts and other documents, trace assets and identify lines of enquiry.
Analyse and assess documentary evidence obtained, including data recovered from computers, in order to prepare statements, visual representations or written results of analytical findings. Present at court or to Senior Investigating Officers or the Crown Prosecution Service.
Identify documents and exhibits relevant to the line of questioning to assist officers in suspect interviews.
Assist in the preparation and compilation of court files and attend court and give evidence on relevant matters as required.
Maintain an up to date working knowledge of the law, practices and procedure in relation to financial institutions.
To undertake other duties commensurate with the nature, level of responsibility and grading of this post, as required.
Experience/Skills:
Knowledge:
Essential
Comprehensive knowledge of analytical processes, techniques and skills including knowledge of NIM (National Intelligence Model)
Desirable
Degree or equivalent qualification in Accountancy/Business/Finance
Accounting procedures and processes
Experience:
Essential
Substantial experience of intelligence development and analysis
Substantial experience in handling statistical information, carrying out analysis and presenting findings in the most appropriate format.
Key Skills:
Able to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
To be able to demonstrate high confidentiality and integrity.
Proficient in the use of IT including Microsoft Windows based applications, in particular advanced skills in MS Excel.
Must be able to work on her/his own initiative whilst within a team environment.
Must have the ability to work under pressure to specific deadlines, where necessary exhibiting both adaptability and flexibility.
