The Financial Reporting Team is a small yet high performing, high profile team. Operating within our growing Bank, we're well accustomed to delivery within a fast pace environment, where 'change' is the norm.

As month end arrives, as you may expect, it is all hands to deck. We are responsible for the delivery of an accurate and reliable Trial Balance and accounting records, reporting to our parent group, First Rand.

We possess the tenacity to identify where change is needed; we encourage the involvement in projects outside of the BAU. We drive the design and build of new processes, continually improving and streamlining our reporting processes.

What would your day look like?

You will report into the Financial Reporting Manager - Central Finance who will be your line manager and responsible for things like performance review meetings, 1-1s and development conversations.

The role of Financial Reporting Accountant is really important to us. You will be responsible for:

• Assisting in the Annual statutory reporting for the consolidated Aldermore Group and other Group entities, including Aldermore Bank

• Assisting in monthly, interim and annual group reporting into FirstRand Group

• Perform month end activities including the posting of month end journals and completion of HFM schedules

• Performance of analytical review to understand movements in the month

• Driving process and control improvements

• Effective stakeholder management of all contributing to the reporting process

What do we expect of you?

• Fully qualified accountant (newly qualified to 2 years PQE) with the potential to manage staff in the future

• Proven experience of preparing IFRS financial statements

• Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with other Microsoft Office applications such as Word and PowerPoint

• Highly credible with the ability to effectively influence at a senior level

• Ability to challenge current practices and identify more efficient solutions

• Inquisitive, investigative and comfortable with ambiguity i.e. solving problems with incomplete information, and challenging the norm
