Position Summary

The Financial Reporting Group produce semi-annual and annual reports for the funds that JPMorgan administers. An opportunity has arisen for a Vice President role overseeing client portfolios and with direct management responsibility for a team who complete the oversight review of statutory and regulatory reports produced by the Financial Reporting Centre of Excellence team offshore.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Client Deliverables
  • Delivery of service to clients ensuring that these meet regulatory and agreed service delivery targets, including the control of the preparation, the review and sign off of fund financial statements in accordance with accounting, regulatory and client requirements.
  • Senior manager oversight review of accounts and files for audit and interim financials.
  • Management and implementation of any changes to service agreed with the client, according to internal policy and with regard for impacts on service level agreements.
Client Management
  • Act as primary escalation contact for the client, regulatory bodies and external auditors and ensure that queries/issues are resolved in a timely manner.
  • Participate in regular service review meetings and ensure that all agreed actions are resolved to agreed time-scales, with attendance, as required, at Board Meetings.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance the overall client relationship.
  • Escalate service issues supplemented with appropriate analysis and suggested rectification to Senior Management.
  • Initiate corrective action when service levels to not meet agreed quality standards.
  • Initiate, maintain and develop effective working relationships with external and internal customers.
Control Management
  • Ensure quality control of team production is in place and regularly implemented.
  • Ensure checklists and internal control guidance is followed during accounts production.
  • Prioritise and manage the team resources efficiently to maintain established service levels.
  • Ensure that team is operating within an appropriate control environment.
  • Continually assess the process/procedures to identify areas for improvement.
  • Translate Local Business Goals into achievable operational objectives for team members.
  • Governance of offshore location partner in accordance with agreed KPIs and requirements. Utilise such information to drive continuous model improvement and corrective action.
People Management
  • Identify training/development opportunities and provide training and coaching for team members.
  • Lead the team, providing strategic direction and mentor team members.
  • Lead performance management for team members.
Business Management
  • Pursue corrective action to achieve cost savings and improved efficiencies
  • Active participation, and lead where appropriate, in departmental projects/initiatives, particularly the technology change agenda as it impacts operations.
  • Participation in new client/business sessions representing the Financial Reporting product offering and skillset.
  • Represent the Financial Reporting department with the external environment.

Technical Attributes
  • Knowledge of GAAP (including Irish / UK GAAP, IFRS, US GAAP), regulatory reporting requirements and fund structures (UCITS, Non-UCITS, AIF, master feeder funds for example).
  • Knowledge of financial instruments and their accounting treatment.
  • In-depth knowledge of funds and audit function.
  • Excellent knowledge of software packages (Word, Excel, Access, Powerpoint).
  • Good operational knowledge of Fund accounting and Financial Reporting systems preferable.

Experience

The candidate will have an in-depth working knowledge of the Financial Reporting area with previous experience in a fund administration environment (or part qualified experience in audit) and will have experience in financial statement preparation and / or audit. The candidate should have a relevant accounting qualification or be part qualified.
