An Internal Audit Manager with Public or Private Sector experience is required by a successful Consultancy. The role is responsible for organising and overseeing client audits in accordance with their annual audit plan and managing a team of associates/testers. The Manager will oversee the review process then make any necessary recommendations to change policies, implement new systems or even change employee roles and team structures. The Audit Manager will work directly with the clients senior management and IA Director. Remote Working Primarily, Client Sites or Office Based (limited at time of writing).
Job Purpose

• Identify risks at client level and ensure these are mitigated through process and solutions

• Finalise reports highlighting issues and providing potential solutions

• Active engagement with clients senior staff to gain a good understanding of their operations

• Supervise, coach and develop junior members of staff within teams

• Ensure compliance with internal (audit methodology and risk management) and external (regulatory) requirements

• To analyse QA reporting on audit reports

• To be responsible for client facing support including compliance analysis

• Oversee client internal audit scope and developing annual plans

• To report to the IA Director all activities by the team
Key Responsibilities/Activities

• Ensures a company or organisation complies with internal regulations and established control protocol

• Examines documentation, including reports, statements, records, and memos to gather information

• Reconciles documentation with actual inventory or assets to ascertain accuracy

• Completes standard paperwork and questionnaires to confirm internal controls

• Participates in meetings with individuals and departments to update auditees on findings and the audit process

• Prepares reports and preserves documentation pertaining to audits for internal record

• Presents summarised findings concerning audit results and trends for internal groups

• Analyses audit results to determine methods for increasing profits and decreasing unnecessary costs

• Makes recommendations for the best ways for a company to avoid fraud and reduce waste

• Assesses best financial practices for an organisation based on team reporting

• Keeps up-to-date on audit procedures and regulations by attending conferences, workshops, and continuing education seminars

• Participates in industry organisations and develops a professional network

• Develops a speciality in auditing a particular industry, such as health care or government

• Works with a team to achieve company goals

• May work extra hours during busy audit seasons or to meet certain milestones
Qualifications/Skills

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance

• Certification required CIA or CPA or ACCA (at least one)

• Minimum Five years' experience at the supervisory level in a financial audit team

• Accounting, Auditing, Knowledge of Legal and Financial Systems

• Attention to Detail

• Problem Solving, Critical Thinking, Analysis

• Ability to develop a team including the personal development of its members

• Written and Verbal Communication

• Interpersonal Communication.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite applications
