Job Description

We are hiring for a Credit Risk Analyst. Reporting to the Credit Risk Manager you will play a leading role in using data driven insights to develop, implement and optimise Moneybarn's Acquisition Strategies. You'll undertake new business analysis and reporting, ensuring material trends are identified and escalated appropriately.

This is a real hands-on role, with guaranteed exposure to executive management and the chance to make a real impact on the commercial decision-making process.

What you'll be doing in the role

  • Support the Credit Risk Manager in the development and management of all acquisition, affordability and fraud strategies in Moneybarn.
  • Develop proposals in conjunction with business teams and other parts of the PFG to ensure incremental improvements in portfolio performance with zero tolerance for customer detriment.
  • Work with business and finance partners to help develop new products and processes than result in positive customer outcomes and achieve business objectives, ensuring effective post-implementation review of credit risks and appropriate escalation of material adverse trends
  • Provide deep-dive analytics (acquisition, portfolio, customer, affordability) and ad-hoc analysis to drive actionable insights and recommendations
  • Monitor the lending portfolio for any material trends or potential opportunities
  • Partner with different business stakeholders (sales managers, marketing, finance, risk, other analysts) to help drive forward recommendations and solutions that help our customers and appropriately mitigate risk
  • Adhere to FCA guidelines
Qualifications

What we're looking for from you

Essential

  • Degree qualified in a numerical subject (will consider candidate without a numerate degree but must be able to demonstrate strong relevant past experience in similar role)
  • Knowledge of advanced statistical and analytical techniques - SAS/SQL/R or other data mining skills
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills e.g. excel, word, power point
  • Experience working to a high level of detail and accuracy

Desirable:

  • Experience in a Strategic or Portfolio Analytical role
  • Experience within a Credit Risk role is highly desirable, however, analytical experience within other environments or disciplines would be considered
  • Strong stakeholder management skills
  • Knowledge of forecasting in a credit risk environment
