Accounts Assistant / Purchase Ledger Clerk, Letchworth

Responsibilities:
-

* Matching, batching and coding of high volume of purchase ledger invoices

* Reviewing and managing accounts payable payment runs

* Reconciling supplier statements and resolving internal and external payment enquiries

* Reconciling Intercompany balances

* Processing, paying and reconciling staff and corporate credit card expenses

* Reconciling company's daily banking

* Intrastat returns

* Updating the fixed asset register and processing depreciation journals

* Preparing month end schedules and journals for prepayments and accruals

* Assisting the Financial Controller with budgets, forecasts, quarterly VAT returns and various month end reporting requirements

Person Specification and Skills:-

* Knowledge of basic accounting principles

* Strong working knowledge of excel (V-Lookups, pivot tables)

* Good organisational skills and ability to work under pressure, in a fast-paced environment

* Ability to critically analyse data and pay attention to the detail

* Team player

Ideally you will be available immediately as my client would prefer to offer this role on a

temporary to permanent basis. You must have excellent Excel skills including the ability

to do V-Lookups and pivot tables. A basic knowledge of Sage 200 would be an added

advantage but not essential. You will be a good team player who is able to learn new

things quickly.

This role would ideally suit an entry level accounts assistant.
