Job PurposeReporting to the Head of Operational Risk to assist in the implementation and maintenance of the Enterprise Risk Management Framework and drive a culture of Risk Management and Control within the Bank.
Job Description
Enterprise Risk Management Framework

Working with the Chief Risk Officer to embed and enhance the Enterprise Risk framework. This includes: Maintaining the Risk Management Policy, The Risk Indicators Framework (Risk Appetite), the Governance and Risk Management sections of the ICAAP, ILAAP and Recovery Plan, the Resolution Plan and the Climate Change framework.
Produce and present Committee papers on risk framework, policy effectiveness and current/emerging risks faced, including a plan for management and integration into banks existing risk management framework.
Risk ReportingAssist the Head of Operational risk in producing and presenting committee papers (Risk Committee, Operational Risk Committee & Fraud Committee). Develop key reporting processes to for the group and subsidiaries focusing on key operational risk data and supporting the quarterly RCSA cycle. Assist the Operational Risk Team to develop and implement key reporting into the risk management system.
Risk Landscape

Keep abreast of emerging issues, trends and evolving regulatory requirements that impact the risk of the bank. Assess the impact to the bank, the risk framework and key operational processes within the bank. Project manage large deliverables and deep dives as required within the risk team. Work with key stakeholders to provide oversight, challenge and expertise on these key deliverables. Examples include Climate Change risk management and integration of Operational Resilience practices. Develop positive stakeholder relationships to aid with the understanding of non-standard risk activities or processes. This includes End User Computing/Model Management, Operational Resilience and Data management. Input into the Risk Monitoring plan and completion of ad-hoc key reviews in conjunction with the Risk Monitoring manager.
Operational Risk ManagementSupport the Head of Operational risk and wider operational risk team during RCSA cycles, including identification, mitigation and reporting of outcomes and action plans.
Change riskProvide robust, risk monitoring and challenge to the portfolio of change projects and programmes across Arbuthnot Latham and recommend action to mitigate delivery risks where required. Assist the Head of Operational Risk in establishing and maintaining a proportionate framework for change risk management and ensure effective embedding of the framework across the change portfolio.
Team responsibilities

To act as a senior member of the Operational Risk team in accordance with the responsibilities delegated by the Head of Operational Risk.
Person Specification

Knowledge & ExperienceDemonstrable risk management skills are essential to be able to define and shape industry leading risk management tools which are tailored to the unique AL's business model as well as satisfying regulatory requirements. Problem solving and analytical skills - this role is focussed on maintaining an effective enterprise risk framework within the unique context of Arbuthnot Latham. Therefore, the ability to apply technical knowledge in a wide variety of situations in both written and oral form, to assess sometimes complex, intricate and lengthy information and reach appropriate conclusions. Demonstrable ability to effectively engage and influence senior operational leaders and owners of technical processes across the business, including within Operations, Technology, Legal, HR and other key operational functions. High degree of stakeholder management and relationship skills to build relationships with a range of senior stakeholders. Excellent analytical skills and the ability to effectively communicate (in both written and verbal forms) and engage in debate on complex topics.Evidence of influencing outcomes with senior management in both formal (e.g. committee) and informal settings is critical.Time management skills - used to working to deadlines and under a certain amount of pressure.Ability to maintain effective personal workload plans that are achievable, prioritised appropriately and meet business objectives.Team working - should be used to working as part of a team, making effective contributions to team meetings and team initiatives and be able to take ownership of tasks and projects whilst often working remotely and without supervision.Challenge - ability to productively challenge technical experts across AL and be robust/resilient under scrutiny.Advanced relationship management and communication skills - the role will involve a large amount of engagement with stakeholders at various levels across the Firm, including the production of analysis reports which must be clear, accurate and easily accessible to both technical experts and those with a more general understanding of risk management.Strong project management skills - to lead and deliver change within areas of responsibility (for example following changes in the regulatory environment).
