Brief Overview of the Role
An assistant in finance, apprentices will learn how to offer support within the day to day running of financial activities in the organisation to include the following:- (please note this list is not exhaustive).
Duties will include:-
Delivering upon Accountabilities to achieve goals, deadlines and targets
Operate cross-functionally as a member of the Team MSC
Operate consistently and respectfully in line with our mission, values and pledge understanding the business and how it is aligned to the strategy.
Open daily post and circulate appropriately
Send and receive emails regarding orders pending, queries or general issues
Collection of outstanding debts via phone, email and email out copy invoices for obtaining payments. Record customers queries pn account, whilst remaining polite and assertive
Allocatng customers cheques to the appropriate account and clear down invoices
Assist on customers credit limits
Liaise with the lawyers in the Legal Department as to updating which accounts are overdue or settled
General administrton and supporting the accounts function
Desired Skills
Capable of making constructive contributions/suggestions to improve the team
Good standard of verbal and written communication
Good numeracy skills
Good time management and organisational skills
Capable of judgment and decision making
Intermediate skills in Word, Excel and Outlook

Desired Qualifications
5 GCSEs with Maths and English grade C/4 essential
Achievement of an AAT L2 Foundation Certificate in Accounting is advantagious but not essential.
Future Prospects
The business is really keen to offer permanent employment to the right person and subject to the successful completion of the apprenticeship.
Training
This would involve a day-release course at college
Working Hours
Monday to Friday 9am-5pm (30 minute unpaid lunch)
Total hours - 37.5 per week
