My client, based in North London, is a highly successful, dynamic and growing Telecoms success story. This Telecoms (Mobile, Voice and Data) specialist Company is continuing to expand rapidly and in line with on-going business success, they now seek an Accounts Assistant who will play a pivotal part within the accounts department, initially focussing on the business Credit Control.
My client offers an exceptional opportunity to play a key role in a small team and to take responsibility for an incredibly varied and interesting role on a day to day basis.
What will your working week look like?
This role will be predominantly responsible for the chasing and collection of payments relating to unpaid bills by applying the collection policy in a timely manner, generation and issue of reminder letters and monthly statements and ensuring that the collections database is maintained, regularly updated, recording chasing notes and the history of each bill. In addition to the Credit Control aspect of the role, the successful candidate will be required to offer all-round accounting support as follows:
* Provide regular updates with customer relationship managers and account managers to discuss/escalate debt issues
* Update team leader of outstanding issues and collection performance
* Highlight accounts with a bad debt risk to line manager
* Resolving customer Queries/ Questions
* Liaise with customers on a daily basis to resolve queries by telephone and email.
* Liaise with the customer relationship managers, account managers regarding credit notes, and cash allocations
* Preparing ad hoc statements or reports for clients and/or partners as required
* Liaise with clients to provide accurate payment allocation details within a specified time frame.
* Upload Sales invoices to Client internal portals
* Updata the database with correct client details
* Take first calls perform initial checks for client and pass to suitable department
* Support your team by helping with workload when required
* Any other duties, which may be required of you from the Team leader or any other, designated person within the business
The key skills and qualities of the Accounts Assistant will be as follows:
* Degree/A-Level educated or equivalent, with previous experience working in an office environment - within accounts
* Knowledge of general accountancy procedures and experience in Microsoft Excel and Sage accounting system, proficient in data entry, maintaining a high standard of numeracy and level of accuracy
* Excellent organisational and analytical skills, having good time management and able to prioritise and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
* Strong written and spoken communication skills, and proficient in MS Office suite (Excel, Word and Outlook)
* A strong team player with a flexible attitude and willingness to learn
