We have a fantastic opportunity for a Financial Controller to join a Global, multibillion pound manufacturer based in their European Head Office in Bracknell. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a leading brand, offering superb career progression and a range of benefits.

The position of Financial Controller is a key role reporting into the Head of Finance and Credit and is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the finance function. Additionally the role is responsible for the European Finance tax affairs, statutory reporting, the AP/AR function, financial planning, budgeting and managing the external audit.

The ideal candidate should be able to demonstrate strong team management experience within a similar position, along with a broad range of skills and knowledge across all aspects of financial management.



Responsibilities:


Oversee the preparation and reporting of the company management and financial accounts.
Review and approval of accounting reconciliations.
Ensure all Finance monthly reports are completed on time and check to ensure they are free from errors.
Ensure accurate AP/AR (Account Payable/Account Receivable) input and checking of payment runs.
Preparation, analysis and submission of the company's budgets
Work with cost centre managers to identify anomalies and regularly review accruals and prepayments
Ensure good planning and preparation for reporting deadlines working with other parts of the business to ensure consistency across all companies
Develop the accounting systems to improve efficiencies and provide meaningful analysis of company results.
Involvement in ad hoc finance projects, including upgrade to Cognos TM1 budgeting system. Involvement in new banking system project.
Manage the company's tax affairs working with group tax department. This includes corporation tax, VAT, Taxed Award Schemes and the PSA.
Ensure the accounting function is SOX compliant by monitoring controls.Skills & Experience:

ACCA/CIMA Qualified 5+ years PQE (Ideally with Financial Services experience).
Proven ability to lead and manage a team.
SAP and TM1 experience is required.
Experience of tax compliance (including preparation of VAT returns)
Detailed knowledge of IFRS.
Proficient in the use of Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Access knowledge would also be advantageous.
Organisation skills to prioritise and meet deadlines.
