Job Description:


Our Client is seeking a Reporting and Control Manager to join their team based in Edinburgh. This is a chance to join a new entity at its formation and play a key role in building the finance function.


In this role you will be instrumental in implementing strong financial control and supporting the Financial Controller in ensuring that Group's standards of financial control and financial reporting are incorporated into all projects.


This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has proven post qualification experience of producing annual statutory financial statements. It would potentially suit someone trained in practice who has now a few years' experience working in industry, preferably where they have built technical knowledge of IFRS.


The business is presently selecting a general ledger system, so any implementation experience would be beneficial, as you will be steering much of this.


If you are looking to develop and utilise new skills and accelerate your development and autonomy this is an ideal opportunity. You will be managing a qualified Accountant and will be the 'go to' for a few other members of the team from a technical perspective.


Core

Responsibilities:


  • Implement strong financial control and month end close processes including monthly balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring all balances are appropriately supported
  • Own the production of annual statutory reporting and manage effective working relationships with internal and external parties
  • Preparation of financial reports in accordance with Group's governance and risk management standards and ensuring appropriate accounting policies are adopted and applied for project and group reporting
  • Work closely with Group's development partners on the development of projects
  • Design and deliver strong financial reporting and timely quality management information and analysis of the development business for senior stakeholders and those monitoring projects


Essential Skills/Experience:


  • Qualified Accountant with strong post qualification experience
  • Experience of preparation of annual statutory financial statements
  • Technical knowledge of IFRS would be beneficial as would implementation of a general ledger systems
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a small team while driving process improvements
  • Foreign language skills are desirable
