NAF Senior Management Accountant

Indeed, we are a business that is passionate about quality, clean sport and continually developing our products and team to provide the best service to horses and riders alike.

Established 30 years ago and having enjoyed sustained growth and success we are currently looking for an enthusiastic, proactive and team focused preferably Qualified CIMA/ACCA/ACA Senior Management Accountant.

Reporting to the Group Financial Controller this is a high profile role leading a team to provide accurate and timely financial information and insights for NAF and the Greencoat Group. With sound commercial acumen and strong technical finance experience you will be key in developing systems and procedures enabling the business to make the best decisions for the continued success and development of our organisation.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Lead, motivate and develop the performance of the Finance team as a whole and as individuals to ensure robust financial management of the business
  • Work closely with all areas of the business to establish strong relationships and provide accurate, well presented information that is clear and coherent addressing all relevant issues
  • Compile full sales analysis identifying our markets, penetration, distribution and highlight any product anomalies and areas for growth or development
  • Develop an in depth understanding of the full manufacturing process and product range ensuring sound stock management, material prices and maximum margins
  • Produce detailed and timely management accounts packs to tight deadlines
  • Work closely with budget holders to develop and review accurate and accountable budgets
  • Ensure that all financial systems accurately reflect the actual procedures and transactions of the business.
  • Actively identify any weaknesses in procedures and control and proactively provide and implement solutions
  • Ensure cash is managed to ensure maximum return
  • Take a lead role as directed by the Group Financial Controller within any finance projects/systems development
  • To act as back-up for weekly payroll procedure and ensure all HMRC requirements are met
  • To assume responsibility as Head of Department in place of Group Financial Controller during periods of absence.

  • Ideally Qualified CIMA/ACCA/ACA with experience gained in the FMCG or Manufacturing sector
  • Be able to demonstrate strong commercial acumen and a genuine interest in being involved in all aspects of our business
  • Have effective communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships and present high quality financial information
  • Be a self starter with an agile mind who enjoys a proactive approach to problem solving
  • A confident and empathetic manager who takes pride in the success of their team
  • An individual with strong systems and development skills with knowledge of Sage 200 and innovative Excel ability
  • Experienced with development of operational controls and auditing procedures
  • Accurate, ambitious and goal oriented
