Our client, a global market leader in its specialist field, is looking to source a credible and technically skilled Financial Controller to join its talented team. This role has great breadth, leading a team of 7 across management and financial accounting, as well as additional project work.

Main duties include:

* Owning the production of monthly management accounts, ensuring all variances are correctly identified and explained
* Ensuring adherence to correct accounting treatment and standards under UK and US GAAP
* Assisting FP&A where required during planning and forecasting process
* Coordinating large projects and system developments
* Managing and mentoring team, ensuring their skills and knowledge develops
* Presenting monthly results and discuss key transactions, variances or exceptional results
* Driving the process of annual statutory reporting
* Continually reviewing and improving processes and controls
* Tracking balance sheet risks
* Acting as a key point of contact with the auditors

Key skills & experience required:

* ACA/ACCA/CIMA Qualified
* Demonstrable technical experience, IFRS knowledge and ideally exposure to USGAAP
* Proven track record managing a team effectively
* Ability to lead and take ownership to ensure deadlines are met
* Strong team player, able to work and interact with all levels of the business
* Examples to date of implementing processes and consistently looks to innovate where possible
* Confident, credible character - can build relationships with all types of stakeholders
