Senior Credit Controller


The role will report to the Financial Controller and will take ownership of the credit control process once invoices have been issued; ensuring client queries are answered in a timely manner and consultants within the business are given sufficient support in ensuring invoices are paid. As we are in the process of implementing a new PSA software, initially the role will cover systems training and UAT (User Acceptance Testing).




Responsibilities:


  • Managing the Accounts Receivable inbox - answering queries etc.
  • Sending statements and payment reminders to clients.
  • Highlighting overdue debts to the business and ensuring action is being taken.
  • Liaising with consultants within the business to understand and resolve late payment of invoices.
  • Contacting clients regarding payment of invoices as and when required by consultants.
  • Supporting the reconciliation of bank receipts to invoices, ensuring the Trade Debtors account is up to date and accurate.
  • Highlighting discrepancies in payments to consultants.
  • Collating data on credit terms, and highlighting where they vary to standard terms.
  • Issuing internal reports showing aged debtors by regions, highlighting areas of concern.
  • Other ad hoc duties as required.


Skills/Experience Required:


  • Strong previous experience as a Senior Credit Controller.
  • Team management experience.
  • Experience in dealing with large corporate debts.
  • Experience in Professional Services industry is desirable.
  • Excellent customer service skills - good communication skills face to face, over the phone and over e-mail.
  • Advanced use of Excel.
  • Experience of credit control systems.
  • Accurate with a good attention to detail.
  • Able to work in a logical manner, using own initiative.
