The role
We are looking for a skilled Purchase Ledger Clerk to join our growing finance team and to administer the purchase ledger in a dynamic and fast paced PR and Communications agency. The individual needs to be self-motivated with good attention to detail and able to work to monthly deadlines.
Duties include
- Finance check purchase invoices against approved purchase orders
- Accurately log purchase invoices on Paprika accounting software
- Reconcile supplier ledgers regularly to ensure accurately reflect creditor position
- Reconcile account statements with suppliers
- Respond to agency queries regarding purchases and outward payments
- Respond to all supplier queries and build strong supplier relationships
- Maintain existing supplier account details on Paprika
- Check and set up new suppliers on Paprika accounting software in line with approval process
- Ensure that weekly outward payments are made in accordance with payment terms
- Liaise with the sales ledger team regarding client funds for recharges, expenses and payment queries
- Process staff expenses and take ownership of the employee expense process
- Process internal recharges (such as mobile phones, taxi travel, newspapers & magazines)
There is scope for the role to develop and duties to be rotated across a fluid team to incorporate tasks such as ownership of petty cash and bank reconciliations.
Qualifications and Experience:
A great opportunity for a recent graduate, with a desire to become an accountant in a highly
creative environment.
Must be a confident communicator, sociable and have a genuine interest in work of the agency as this role requires a lot of interaction with the business. No previous accounting experience necessary but must be proactive and mathematical.
