Tired of commuting into London in these uncertain times, looking to work locally in Croydon ? Reporting to the Tax Partner in this established Croydon practice, you will be responsible for both compliance and advisory with a portfolio of HNW individuals SME clients and larger company personal tax, while supervising a support team of 4 ACA part qualifieds.
The role includes :-
Preparation of Tax Computations and Personal Tax Returns as well as income and expenditure accounts for letting properties
Preparation of Partnership Tax Returns, and computing chargeable gains.
Responsible for a mixed portfolio of Personal Tax clients (including high net worth individuals, non UK domiciled individuals, Trusts and Partnerships).
Managing portfolio of 350+ clients, including a number of High Net Worth Individuals (HNWI), non UK domiciled and non UK resident clients
• Review of personal expense schedules and locum income accounts, letting (rental) accounts, Trust accounts
• Review of individual, partnership, Estate and Trust tax returns
• Dealing with enquiries into clients' tax returns, including tax enquiries relating to goodwill on incorporation, investment in various tax schemes like film partnerships, Enterprise Zones etc.
• Inheritance Tax (IHT) calculations and preparing IHT accounts (e.g. IHT400/IHT205 forms and various IHT schedules)
• Assisting tax partner and senior tax manager on IHT planning
• Preparing advisory reports for clients for review by tax partner and senior tax manager, such as incorporation of sole trading business
• Liaising with tax partner directly on various tax projects
• Liaising with other teams within the practice in terms of tax planning and clients' wealth management
• Liaising with tax enquiry insurers in terms of agreeing budget and raising claims
• Monitor WIP levels, prepare fee proposals for consideration by partners, budget reviews, chasing outstanding debts
Tax planning, including salary, dividend and pension planning for directors and shareholders of owner-managed businesses (close companies), as well as tax planning through investment opportunities such as VCTs and EIS.
The practice has a Financial Advisor division and there will be an element of advisory work here.
You are ATT or CTA qualified with at least 3-4 years solid personal tax exposure in practice at Personal Tax Senior or Supervisor level.
This is a superb way to gain supervisory exposure, together with some corporate finance exposure and represents a safe/ secure role for a local personal tax specialist
