The Role

We have an opportunity for a Finance Business Partner at our Rainham, Essex site. You will be responsible for building strong relationships with all levels of the operational team and management.


  • Support the general manager for finance in the day to day operations
  • Strong business partnering skills covering a wide range of business areas and levels of management
  • To collate and analyse financial performance of the contract and its operations, providing insight and challenge to the Senior Team, line managers and the Contract Director
  • To develop and implement an appropriate performance framework to support financial forecasting and decision making across the business (i.e. development of appropriate KPIs and models to support decision making)
  • Developing and maintaining control and reporting models and cascading through relevant parts of the project
  • Analysing operational cost and revenue drivers and formulating results for non-financial managers
  • Explaining variances to budget / forecast and informing key outcomes and formulating business strategies
  • Offering professional judgement on financial & non-financial matters and advising on ways of improving business performance
  • Interpreting and communicating financial data to non-financial managers
  • Forecasting monthly, quarterly and yearly financial results
  • Participate in and where appropriate lead business improvement initiatives.
  • Manage & develop a team of 3 within the finance function
  • Other ad hoc financial analysis as required

Experience and Skills Required

  • Candidates must be qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA) with a strong academic history.
  • Experience of working in a contractual environment ideally in Processing, Manufacturing or Construction industries
  • Excellent IT literacy with high proficiency in excel and database applications.
  • Experience of working with complex forecasts and managing change is essential.
  • A proven record of accomplishment of adding value to a business through cross-functional collaboration is essential.
  • Proactive with excellent communication, administration and organisational skills.
  • Able to work under pressure to tight deadlines and be relied upon to deliver.
  • Ability to manage and work as part of contract leadership team is essential.
  • A clear understanding and ownership of efficient financial processes with help the successful candidate to be an effective partner to the wider UK business.
  • A self-starter with good energy levels, the candidate will also need to be able to work at a detailed level without losing sight of the bigger picture and be able to work on own initiative.
  • Ambition to lead the finance function in the future.

A valid Driving Licence is required as the role may involve travel on occasion.


Salary

£65,000 pa + benefits package
