Job Description:


One of Core-Asset's clients a high-profile legal firm is seeking a talented Personal Tax specialist to join their large in-house team based in Edinburgh City Center. The primary purpose of this role is to ensure correct tax returns, appeals are prepared and submitted to the Revenue within time limits whilst maintaining good relations with clients.

Responsibilities:


  • Preparation and submission of annual tax returns for individuals and trusts
  • Agree correct tax liabilities with HMRC within time limits
  • Provide pro-active advice on the mitigation of tax liabilities and the organisation of a client's tax affairs
  • Respond promptly to clients' and HMRC's queries and correspondence
  • Maintain and up-date the Capital Gains Tax records and other appropriate records
  • Complete draft Tax Returns form
  • Prepare schedules of investment income
  • Complete Capital Gains Tax calculation
  • Lodge Client Tax Returns
  • Provide ad-hoc tax advice to clients and prospective clients as required
  • Assist Principal and/or Partners with ad hoc tax advice and answers to tax technical queries as and when required.


Essential Skills/Experience:


  • Proficient UK Corporation Tax compliance knowledge and experience
  • Ideally ACCA/CIMA/CA or ATT/CTA qualifications
  • UK Corporation tax work experience in Practice or Industry
  • Aptitude for working in a swiftly changing, dynamic environment
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
