Reporting to:Finance Director

Hours:09:00 to 17:00, 1/2hr unpaid lunch 37.5hrs per week (COVID19 secure workplace with ability to do some remote working following training)

Job purpose:To ensure smooth running of Purchase Ledger function (CIS) and to provide assistance in all areas of accounts to ensure efficient running of small but extremely busy finance department; raising Purchase Orders - for the Group

Job detail, but not limited to:


• Matching, batching and coding of supplier invoices


• Processing of invoices onto accounting system


• Dealing with all supplier queries and liasing with suppliers regarding payments and any errors or disputes


• Liasing with other departments in a prompt manner to resolve supplier queries.


• Monthly supplier statement reconciliations


• Preparation of supplier payment runs


• Monitoring of efficient running of purchase order system


• Reviewing outstanding purchase orders and identify any obsolete or incorrect orders, and amend as necessary


• Offering training and general advice to other departments regarding the purchase order system


• Understanding of CIS and processing of relevant invoices within this scheme


• Preparation of monthly CIS return


• Preparation of CITB returns and ensuring registration is up to date


• Reviewing, amending and processing employee expenses and credit cards


• Processing of New Supplier Account Forms


• Raising Purchase Orders on behalf of all Group Companies


• Answering main line phone calls during busy periods


• Reconciliation of Company bank accounts and petty cash


• Providing assistance to the MA during busy periods and for absences

In addition all employees are expected to ensure good housekeeping is maintained at all times and to ensure that all Health & Safety procedures and good practices are adhere to.

Familiarisation with the Construction Industry Scheme and contract based working preferable.

Knowledge of Sage Line 50 and Sage Job Costing and strong Excel skills ideal.

This will suit a hands-on and experienced Accounts Assistant who has ability to work autonomously as well as be a team player.
