The role

Paysend is a FinTech company looking to change the way that money is moved around the world. We require an ambitious Finance Assistant who will join the team and take responsibility for accounts payable and accounts receivable functions - a vital part of our business.

You'll be recording invoices and creating payment runs so that all parties involved in our payment processes are paid in a timely manner, which will help the business to run smoothly. As a payments business, frictionless flows of money are essential with partners, customers and internally, and you'll be co-ordinating this for us and making sure that we face no financial hiccups on a daily basis. We work in a fast-paced environment with a rapidly growing team and so you'll need to hit the ground running and quickly immerse yourself in the Paysend culture!

What you'll be doing:

• Responsible for accounts payable and accounts receivable functions - processing and accurate recording of invoices and creation of payment runs for approval
• Building relationships internally with key areas of the business to ensure purchase orders are created and approved on a timely basis, enabling payments to suppliers and externally with key suppliers
• Updating financial spreadsheets with daily transactions
• Tracking and reconciling bank statements
• Creating cost analysis reports (fixed and variable costs)
• Supporting monthly payroll and keeping organised records
• Providing support to management accountants as required as part of month end reporting
• Providing support for annual audit as required
• Being responsible for processes and controls relating to accounts payable and bank reconciliation and ensuring documentation remains up to date
• Ad hoc tasks as directed by the Financial Controller

What we're looking for:

• BSc degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics
• Work experience as a Finance Assistant, Finance Officer or similar role
• Good knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping procedures
• Advanced MS Excel skills (creating spreadsheets and using financial functions)
• Familiarity with accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks)
• Organisational and time-management skills
• Attention to detail, with an ability to spot numerical errors
• Excellent communicator
• Positive and flexible attitude to work particularly new initiatives
• Diplomatic in meeting and working with people, good cultural awareness
• Capable of developing and maintaining strong client relationships
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, highly organised
