This is an amazing opportunity for an individual to build their skills and capabilities towards a career path that could potentially lead to a Finance Director role in the future, working within a professional team with true accountability for delivering results.Job purposeReporting to the Finance Director of LST, the role has responsibility in two distinct areas:(i) You will lead in delivering the accounting, reporting and control activity for two of the largest sites within Life Science Technologies (LST), working with and guiding the shared service accountants to ensure results and forecasts are accurate and that control and governance activities are completed diligently.(ii) You will also support the Finance Director in maintaining central oversight of the wider Global LST business, providing performance management reporting and business partnering support to drive actions which bring about improved operating results.Principal accountabilitiesAccounting: Manage the accuracy and completeness of the financial accounting and controls work completed by the shared services teams in line with Group policyForecasting: Complement the accounting by calculating an accurate forecast submission underpinned by clear assumptions which can be measured, narrated and used to inform actionsPerformance Management: Gather and compile Balanced scorecard data which contains the key performance indicators for LST on a monthly basis and reports these to the leadership teamAnalysis: Work directly with the Financial Director to support generation of analysis which identifies material drivers of value in the short, medium and long-term and is willing and able to lead actions which capture this value.Control and Governance: Deliver the Key Control Questionnaire requirements for the Group cycles, supporting other functions with responses and supports other functions to complete closure of any identified control gaps.Risk Management: Report on the risk profile of the business on a periodic basis identifying and implementing mitigating actionsYouQualified ACA / CIMA / ACCA AccountantStrong academics with excellent A-Level results and a degree (2:1+) from a good universityPreferred background from the Audit route in a large Accountancy firm or high-quality industryUp to date knowledge of Financial Reporting standards and Governance, Risk and Control frameworksAdvanced Excel and data manipulation skills to amalgamate data from multiple systems into meaningful analysis quicklyHigh potential, tenacious, detail oriented, questioning mindset, friendly, personableHow to apply:Internal applicants should advise their line manager before applying.
